Introduction
Currently, there are approximately 500,000 children in foster care in the United States. It’s estimated that 120,000 are eligible for adoption. With over 400,000 churches in the United States, if one person in every 3rd church would say “I’ll take one” all of the children would have a home.
Once adopted, the birth parents of the foster care child has no legal rights to the child and can in many cases be forbidden from contact with the adoptive family.
Sadly, each year, about 26,000 children age out of foster care WITHOUT the support, guidance, care and love of an adoptive family.
