What?
Crosstown Packout – a competitive and thrilling event for high schools in Greater Cincinnati to actively learn about world hunger and the water crisis through a hands-on 300,000 meal pack-a-thon.

When?
Saturday, October 12, 2019

Why?
Students work alongside classmates in learning about the realities of the hunger and the world water crisis that exist in our modern world. But the evening won’t end here – students will learn about how each of us have an opportunity to become a solution provider. Students will compete against the clock and each other to reach a goal of packing 300,000 meals and assembling supplies to purify 150,000 gallons of dirty water. This will be an unforgettable night!

Who?
Your student’s high school has the opportunity to send 1-4 teams to participate in this event; each team is made up of 11 students and 1 adult chaperone (Each school may send a maximum of 44 students to participate in the event).

Cost?
The event will cost each participating student $25 (required at the time of student registration)

What is included in the $25 student fee?
Each school participating will select a team color (first come first serve on the registration page) and participants will be given a Crosstown Packout t-shirt to wear on the night of the event. These tees will help distinguish the different schools as your school works together to compete against others. The cost of these tees is included in the registration fees.

Dinner, entertainment and prizes are also included!

How do sign up my child to participate?
First, contact your administrator or child’s favorite teachers and encourage them to register as a participating school! The first step to participating in this event is getting your school to commit to sending a team. Schools will then invite you, the students, to represent them at the event later on this summer and at the start of the 2019/2020 school year.

The following schools have committed (yay!) to sending at least one team and completed the online school registration form and fee:

  1.  Mount Notre Dame
  2. Princeton High School

Is the event supervised?
Yes, each team of 11 students will bring 1 adult chaperone to stick with them throughout the evening. In addition, there will be between 20 and 30 other adult volunteers helping to keep this a safe and well-supervised event. 

Students will not be permitted to leave the event early unless an early release form has been submitted by a parent. More information will become available closer to the event.

Midnight is too late! Can I pick up my child early?
Yes! Students will be permitted to leave the event early only if an early release form has been submitted by a parent. More information will become available closer to the event.
